The Global Marketing Financial Analyst’s primary role is to provide financial guidance and analysis to drive accountability and decision making across the marketing function within Architectural Coatings. This position will manage and track all marketing, promotion and innovation spend across the Architectural business. This position will also manage the monthly closing cycle, reporting, estimating and support the development of the annual marketing plan. This position will also work closely with the marketing teams and third party vendors to develop analytical modeling to calculate the return on investment of various media, promotion, and other marketing tactics to optimize investment mix.
This position will report directly to the Director of Finance – Home Centers and also work closely with upper management including the VP Global Strategic Marketing and General Manager USCA Home Centers along with the Brand Managers for each product line and channel.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop common global processes and procedures for managing, analyzing and tracking global expenditures across marketing, promotion and innovation
Assess and identify areas for efficiency gains across our expenditures
Prepare and present the marketing spending forecast and actuals, highlighting key deviations from Plan and prior year.
Own the accounting activities/processes involving marketing sales curve and adstock journal entries in USCA
Develop a process to forecast and optimize the ordering of Point of Sales (POS) materials across the business
Develop consistent Return on Investment (ROI) modeling across the SBU to assess media, promotions and other marketing tactics and provide recommendations to leadership on recommended mix to support the business strategy
Support the development of the annual marketing plan and the marketing investment review process
Work with the business to prepare ACTs for capital projects related to color center displays
Provide any ad hoc analysis as required by marketing/finance. This includes detailed product profitability analysis across channels, pricing recommendations and analysis of POS trends across various channels.
Experience and Education:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a business related field and at least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience. MBA is highly preferred.
Functional and Technical Skills:
Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to provide detailed information to management in a summarized and succinct manner. Must have strong leadership potential and ability to analyze and interpret financial data and determine appropriate course of action. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to react quickly to change.
