The primary role of the Accounting Manager is to partner with and support the Controller and accomplish tasks needed to maintain and perform the activities necessary within the company’s general ledger. These include general ledger related activities such as transaction processing and account reconciliations, customer invoicing, and month-end close related activities. As the incumbent matures with the business, the expectations of the role will expand to include project work and research / guidance for complex accounting issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
At the highest level, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the following activities…
• Client Billing Administration
• General Ledger and Accounting Activities
• Coordinates and completes monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
• Reviews general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of postings
• Responsible for quarterly sales tax filing and other tax related activities
• Documentation of processes and procedures as it pertains to these functions
• Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures
